With this print, I wanted to capture the grand finale of the Shuttle era: the historic STS-135 mission on July 8, 2011. As the 135th and final flight of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program, this spectacular liftoff brought a legendary, 30-year chapter of human spaceflight to a deeply emotional and historic close.

By transforming the launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis into a reduction linocut, I wanted to freeze the raw power and energy of that final ascent. The artwork is designed to capture the intense atmosphere of the moment the shuttle pierced the sky for the very last time, celebrating a monumental legacy that paved our way into orbit.

This linocut centers on the energetic return of humankind’s next giant leap: the historic splashdown of the Artemis II mission. As the first crewed flight of the Artemis program, this successful landing in the Pacific Ocean will mark the completion of a journey that brings astronauts back to lunar orbit for the first time in over fifty years.

By translating the moment the Orion spacecraft hits the ocean surface into a graphic print, I wanted to freeze the intense momentum of re-entry.
